Medjugorje
Medjugorje, in the heart of Bosnia and Herzegovina is a special place of pilgrimage visited by thousands of pilgrims each year in search of the spirituality and serenity that exists here.On 24 June 1981 Our Lady first appeared to six visionaries from the village of Medjugorje and told them “I have chosen this parish in a special way and I wish to lead it”. Our Lady continues to give messages to these visionaries: Ivan, Jakov, Marija, Mirjana, Vicka, and Ivanka. They report that Our Lady's mission is one of peace and love and she tells us "I have come to tell the world that God exists. He is the fullness of life, and to enjoy this fullness and peace, you must return to God".

Sample Spiritual Programme
Day 1
Depart Ireland for Dubrovnik or Split in Croatia. Upon arrival you will be met by Philip Ryan and our team of representatives and transferred by coach to Medjugorje for light supper.
Day 2
Morning Holy Mass followed by an introductory talk and tour of the Shrine. Evening Rosary in the parish Church followed by parish Mass in Croatian, blessings, prayers for healing and the Glorious Mysteries of the Rosary. The Apparition takes place nightly at 6.40pm; this is usually marked with a short silence. (Simultaneous translation provided - Please bring a small radio with headphones)
Day 3
Morning meeting with one of the Visionaries, followed by Holy Mass and a talk from one of the local Franciscan priests. Climb the hill of the Apparitions (Podbrdo) for a time of prayer in the afternoon. After dinner, the evening programme begins as Day 2 with Rosary.
Day 4
Early morning climb of Mt. Krizevac (Cross Mountain) to follow the ‘Way of the Cross’. After 10:00am there is an option of visiting the parish of Fr. Jozo, the parish priest at the time of the Apparitions, for a talk and healing service. Evening programme as before.
Day 5
Morning Holy Mass followed by meeting with one of the Visionaries. Afternoon visit to Cennacolo, a community for recovering alcoholics and drug addicts. Evening programme as before.
Day 6
Morning meeting in the Community of the Oasis of Peace followed by Holy Mass. Optional afternoon trip to a Franciscan Monastery in Humac, or to Studenci, the Shrine of the Sacred Heart. Evening programme as before.
Day 7
Early morning meeting with one of the Visionaries. Afternoon walk through the vineyards to the Blue Cross, a place of many Apparitions of Our Lady. Evening programme as before.
Day 8
Depart after breakfast for return flight from Dubrovnik or Split.
Every Wednesday and Saturday there is Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament in the Church. Programmes may vary from this sample depending on which of the priests and visionaries are in Medjugorje at the time of your Pilgrimage and on individual group requirements.
