Garden Route
The Garden Route is a truly beautiful stretch of coastline running from Mossel Bay to the Tsitsikamma National Park. It is a popular self-drive route, taking in breathtaking scenery, with beautiful beaches, championship golf courses, lakes and lagoons between majestic mountains, lush forests and picturesque villages.Mossel Bay is a charming coastal village with a sun kissed peninsula that enjoys a mild climate all year round. Food enthusiasts will relish the opportunity to sample the world-class local mussels.
George is a pretty town nestled at the foot of the Outeniqua Mountains and is a golfers paradise with 3 of South Africa's "top ten" golf courses to be found here. It is a popular stop off for a trip on the famous Outeniqua Choo-Tjoe stream strain.
Knysna is a quaint village surrounded by spectacular mountain passes, indigenous forests & beautiful lakes. Its two sandstone cliffs - Knysna Heads - flank the mouth of the lagoon, which spills into the sea.
Oudtshoorn, capital of the Klein Karoo, enjoys a relaxed, friendly and hospitable atmosphere and is famed for its ostrich breeding farms.
