Head of Cruise Holidays

Joe Walsh Tours is Ireland’s longest established tour operator.  Established in 1961 and with an unsurpassed reputation within our market and industry for top quality tours, excellent customer service and highly experienced staff at all levels, we specialise in everything relating to group travel, from escorted tours and music holidays to pilgrimages, cruises, sports and school tours.  The Joe Walsh Tours group currently incorporates tour operators Pilgrimages Abroad and Concorde Travel and have offices in France, Portugal, Bosnia, Holy Land & Canada.

We are looking for a Head of Cruise Holidays to join our Head Office team on Dublin’s Baggot Street.

The Head of Cruise Holidays role has been created recently to consolidate the development of yet another specialist holiday product within Joe Walsh Tours.  The professional occupying the position is expected to lead the entire cruise business area and will play a key role in the company’s expansion within the cruise market.  Additional responsibilities include:

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for the overall management of strategic and operational activities relating to cruise holidays
  • Review traditional product offering, providing feedback regarding prospect needs and generating product development ideas
  • Planning and co-ordinating the implementation of business plans and the development of a specialist cruise business area
  • Take ownership of the management of sales and marketing activities of cruise business
  • Oversee the development and introduction of online booking platform
  • Getting involved with training of staff assigned to the area
  • Maintaining existing relationships with group organisers and key clients
  • Drive increased revenue to achieve the Company`s growth expectations
  • Professional and knowledgeable approach to each new business call

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Previous experience working with cruise holidays in a management or business development capacity
  • Strong knowledge of cruise products, European & worldwide
  • Experience working with senior management in a corporate/business focused environment
  • Excellent negotiation skills and proven track record of successfully pitching for new business
  • Proven track record of increasing revenue through generation of leads
  • Experience working with group tours and/or organising group travel would be a plus
