Detailed Itinerary

  • DAY 1: 17th October 2020
Make your way to Dublin airport for your flight to Venice. On arrival in Venice, you will meet your guide for the week and be transported from the airport to Treviso, where you’ll spend the next 3 nights. Treviso is a city with a population of 80,000 just 45 minutes from Venice, and is also known for its many canals. It also has stunning architecture including buildings and structures such as the Palazzo dei Trecento, with its battlements and vaulted arcades, and the Fontana delle Tette is a 16th-century fountain that used to have wine flowing from it. Near to the fountain you will also find the Duomo with its neoclassical facade, Romanesque crypt and a painting by Titian. This also makes for a stunning backdrop for the opening days of your tour. You will have dinner with the group in the hotel before spending your first night in Treviso.

  • DAY 2: 18th October 2020
This morning you will travel the short distance to Venice, and will get off the bus to take a water taxi to the city centre. There you will have a guided tour of the city taking in St Mark's Square, Doge's Palace, Saint Mark's Basilica and Rialto Bridge before having some free time for lunch and to explore the city some more at your own pace. Venice is built on more than 100 small islands in a lagoon in the Adriatic Sea and has no roads, just canals. In late afternoon, you will return by coach to Treviso for dinner at your hotel.

  • DAY 3: 19th October 2020
Today you will have a free day to relax and further explore Treviso and the region at your own pace. Your guide can give you advise on things to see and do in the city and surrounding areas. Dinner is not included on this evening to allow you the opportunity to explore the numerous restaurant options in the city. Return to the hotel at your leisure to spend your last night in Treviso.

  • DAY 4: 20th October 2020
This morning you will check out of your Treviso hotel after breakfast, and begin your journey to Lake Garda. After a short drive of around an hour, you will arrive in Padua, our first stop of the day. Located to the North of Italy, Padua is a large town in the Veneto region. Situated on the Bacchiglione River, around 40km from Venice, the town is a wonderful mix of culture, history, art and Italian traditions. Here you will have a guided tour taking in some of the top attractions Padua has to offer such as the Scrovegni Chapel, the Basilica of St Anthony, Prata della Valle and Ragione Palace. After your tour of Padua, the group will continue to Verona where you will have free time for lunch on arrival there. After lunch, you will have a guided tour of Verona and a little free time. The city of Verona, the setting of Shakespeare’s famous play Romeo and Juliet, is one of the largest cities in the North of Italy. Famous for its opera season, Verona is a city of rich history, tradition and culture. Often referred to as ‘Italy’s Little Rome’ because of its wealth of charms and attractions, Verona is brimming with things to discover. You will then board the coach for the last drive of the day to your hotel on Lake Garda. After settling in to our rooms, the group will have dinner together.

  • DAY 5: 21st October 2020
This morning, you will start the day with a short walking tour of Riva del Garda before taking a boat trip on the Lake until around lunch time. You can then choose to return to Riva del Garda, or possibly take the ferry to some of the other beautiful towns on the lakeside. Dinner is not included on this evening to allow you the opportunity to explore the numerous restaurant options in the city. Return to the hotel at your leisure for overnight.

  • DAY 6: 22nd October 2020
Today will see the group take a full day excursion into the mountains to visit Bolzano which is located in South Tyrol. This city offers beautiful art, architecture and hidden treasures. Bolzano is where Mediterranean and Northern European lifestyle meet, and it has more German speakers than Italian. You will take in the beautiful views of the Dolomites whilst riding along a cable car overlooking the stunning scenery. You’ll then have free time at leisure before returning to your hotel in Lake Garda for dinner.
