Upon arrival meet your local driver and guide and transfer to your hotel in Windhoek to check in and enjoy the rest of the day free at leisure after a long flight.

  • DAY 2: From Windhoek transfer to Sossusvlei
Subtle shifting sand dunes sculpted by the wind, Sossusvlei is often referred to as the “Dune Sea”. Located in the heart of the Namib Naukluft Park, Sossusvlei facets an air of isolation and tranquility where one can find perspective and serenity amongst the orange dunes and ‘cracked white floor’ of the vlei (dried up saltpan). Upon arrival in Sossusvlei enjoy the rest of the day relaxing, where you will experience a true African accommodation experience.

  • DAY 3: Sossusvlei
We will start very early this morning to catch the beautiful sunrise in Sossusvlei, and to avoid the most heat. Morning excursion into Sossusvlei & Deadvlei where guests have the option of climbing the world’s highest sand dune, or simply stroll around the breathtaking Deadvlei area. To experience the full magnitude of this ancient 32000 square kilometers sand sea, one has to climb the dunes. The highest dune being Big Daddy at 325 meters is the most accessible but toughest to take on. The reward however is a panoramic view of the Dead Vlei with the 900-year-old Camelthorn trees. The contrasts of the shadows on the dunes, the clear blue sky and blackened dead trees against the orange dunes is a must see when visiting Namibia.

  • DAY 4: Swakopmund
This morning you will get the opportunity to fly in a Hot Air Balloon over the desert, a truly unique experience – kindly note this is not included in the program, but can be booked and paid for on spot. In the early afternoon transfer to Swakopmund. Situated between the Atlantic Ocean and Namib Dunes you will find a jewel of a town filled with historic buildings and landmarks creating the ambience of a small German town. Travelers can expect to dine at some of the finest restaurants overlooking the Atlantic, and enjoy luxury accommodation, often a stone throw away from the beach. Various activities are offered in and around the coastal town and you’ll the get the opportunity to experience whatever suits you. Being one of Namibia’s main tourist towns visitors are welcomed by the locals and guaranteed friendly service and a memorable stay.

  • DAY 5: Swakopmund
You have today free at leisure, where you can stroll through the beautiful town of Swakopmund and/or join some excellent guided tours in the area. There is enough to choose from and something to suit everyone’s interests. For example you can Camel ride or Quad bike in the Namib Desert, experience Sandwich Harbor where the sand dunes meet the Atlantic Ocean, sail on a Dolphin Cruise, Skydive, visit Spitzkoppe and so much more.

  • DAY 6: Damaraland
From Swakopmund we are heading North. Today’s destination is Damaraland. Untamed and rugged, Damaraland is one of Namibia’s most scenic attractions. Highlights include Namibia’s highest mountain, the Brandberg or ‘Burnt Mountain’ most famous for the rock painting of the White Lady’; Twyfelfontein with thousands of bushman rock paintings and of course Rhino & Desert Elephant tracking, truly magnificent and majestic creatures who adapted to survive in the harsh desert conditions. Impressive mountains await and with so many beautiful places to see, you may just end up visiting a place with no name. Upon arrival in our unique & exclusive lodge, enjoy the day at leisure.

  • DAY 7: Damaraland
Today we will explore the area, and enjoy guided excursions to view the Bushmen’s rock Engravings, as well as a safari tour in search of the magnificent Desert Elephant. The San, or Bushmen, are indigenous people in Southern Africa. Their ancient rock paintings and carvings are found in caves and on rock shelters. The artwork depicts non-human beings, hunters, and half-human half-animal hybrids. In Twyfelfontein we will walk around and view many of these impressive rock engravings. The Desert Elephant can only be found in 2 places in the world, here in Namibia and Mali. They are of high national and international conservation priority, and have been designated as top priority for protection by the IUCN. They have adapted to their dry, semi-desert environment by having a smaller body mass with proportionally longer legs and seemingly larger feet than other elephants. Their physical attributes allow them to cross miles of sand dunes to reach water.

  • DAY 8: Etosha
After breakfast we transfer to Etosha National Park. Showcasing some of the most common and rarest wildlife species, Etosha offers visitors unforgettable sightings of free roaming wildlife. Experience the contrasts of wide grasslands, Camelthorn and Mopani trees with an enormous salt pan covering 4731km2; so big it can be seen from space. Being the 3rd largest game park in Africa, Etosha is a must for your travel list. Upon arrival at your lodge enjoy the rest of day free at leisure.

The afternoon is free at leisure. Use the day to relax by the pool, sit at the waterhole or book an optional (not included) open-truck safari

  • DAY 10: Etosha
Transfering from Etosha South side, to Etosha East gate we enjoy a full day Safari in search of all the African animals. Etosha National Park is unique in Africa. There is abundant wildlife that congregates around the waterholes, giving you almost guaranteed game sightings. At the same time Etosha is one of the most accessible game reserves in Namibia and Southern Africa. The areas with thicker vegetation are home to elephant (some of the largest in Africa due to the vitamins and nutrients found in the ground), the endangered black rhino and even leopard. Lions are camouflaged in the pale-golden colour of the grasslands, while giraffes rise high above most of the dry vegetation. Birders will love the experience, where more than 340 bird species have been counted in Etosha National Park. The the migratory species, the European bee-eater is possibly the most popular sighting. The game reserve is also home to the world’s largest bird, the ostrich, and the heaviest flying bird, the kori bustard. We will enjoy lunch mid way through the park, and upon arrival at our lodge enjoy the evening free at leisure.

  • DAY 11: Otjiwa
From Etosha we are heading South bound towards Windhoek. Our next destination is Otjiwa.Set amidst the unspoilt beauty of Namibia’s oldest game farm, Otjiwa Safari Lodge is the ultimate holiday destination for those in search of an authentic African experience that meets the very best in international tourism standards.Enjoy the rest of the day free at leisure.

  • DAY 12: Okonjima

Today, AfriCat’s mission is the long-term conservation of some of Namibia’s largest carnivores – such as brown hyena, leopard and cheetah, all of which can be be seen during an environmental education visit to Okonjima.
