Charity Challenges The Himalayas

Why choose the Himalayas?

The breathtaking scenery of the Himalayas has made this stunning mountain range a draw for charity treks for decades. You also have plenty of route options should you wish to take a fundraising group to this part of the world. In Nepal, you can choose to visit the Mount Everest region, however Annapurna is considered to be a more beautiful area to walk in. You also have the option to walk the Himalayans in the Sikkim and West Bengal regions or India. With more flight options and better flight prices from Dublin than ever before, Himalayan treks no longer need to involve extremely high fundraising targets, making it easier for you to find participants willing to fundraise for your organisation.

Top Tips

On our recommendation, staying in local Tea Houses will provide you with accommodation, hot meals, local knowledge and security. Tea Houses are small family run lodges that accommodate trekkers along the routes. It is also a unique insight in to Nepali culture and gives you the opportunity to try local delicacies and brush up on your Nepali!

Local Information

If your fundraisers are avid trekkers, the Kathmandu Valley is real must see. This breathtaking valley offers a 180 degree mountain view and stretches from the western Annapurna Range to Everest in the east. The Valley itself lies around 1050 metres, with its mountain peaks stretching to 2800 metres above sea level. Other fantastic experiences include a tour of the Annapurna Conservation Area by classic Royal Enfield Motorcycle, hot air ballooning, paragliding and elephant safaris.
